  • How Does Radiant Heating Work?

Cozy winter composition in a room

Instead of moving air throughout the room with fans or natural air convection, radiant heaters supply warmth through radiation that comes from behind walls or floorboards. The heat can be generated by hot water or electricity, providing a consistent temperature that emulates a natural outdoor environment.

Radiant heating doesn’t just make your home more comfortable in terms of temperature; it can even protect you from allergies. Since it does not cause strong air currents, it keeps dust from blowing through the air. A lack of strong air currents also contributes to a silent heating system that is not disruptive.

Albert Nahman Plumbing & Heating is in the business of providing top qu ality plumbing, trenchless sewer line replacement, sewer inspections, and drain cleaning to the Oakland, Hayward, Fremont, Concord, and Berkeley areas. • How is Indoor Air Quality Defined?

According to the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA), indoor air quality is defined as the extent to which the air in a building hinders or enhances the health and quality of life of persons within it. To learn more about what this means and how indoor air quality is affected, watch this brief IAQA video clip.

The physical and chemical composition of the air in a room may be influenced by numerous particles that are not visible to the human eye. Some of these particles are byproducts of humans and pets living or working in a space. Others derive from mold, mildew, building materials such as asbestos and lead, and gases.

If you want the air quality in your Berkeley, CA, home or business to be as high as it can be, call Albert Nahman Plumbing & Heating at (510) 843-6904. A combination of our thorough duct cleaning and state-of-the-art air filtration system installation services can have you and your family or employees breathing healthy, refreshing air in no time.

  • Understanding the Importance of Winter Pipe Maintenance

In order to make sure that your pipes work properly throughout the year, it is important to check on them during the winter. Simple tasks such as opening the cabinets that house your pipes will improve heat circulation. If your faucet has one lever, position it in the middle and run lukewarm water through your pipes at a fast trickle; if your sink has two levers, both must be on. You should also make sure that you don’t have hoses attached to your outdoor spigots.

Albert Nahman Plumbing & Heating provides plumbing, drain cleaning, sewer inspections, and trenchless sewer line replacement. If you live in the Oakland, Hayward, Fremont, Concord, or Berkeley areas, call us at (510) 843-6904 or check out our website today!
